How to mix kojic acid to my skincare product? To mix kojic acid, it need to be dissolved in water first. Be sure to use warm (25-40°C/77-104°F) water since it may lose some of its activity if put into hot water (>40°C/104°F). Kojic acid has tendency to oxidize over time, use vitamin E tocopherol or BHT (Butylated hydroxytoluene) in the cream to reduce oxidation. It’s often be combined with other skin lighteners, such as vitamin C to get better result.
